The MET office is predicting "significant snowfall" across the Loch Ness area through the whole of next week. Scotland has already had its worst winter for thirty years leaving potholes and transport chaos plus thousands of elderly people freezing.

Speaking from his Loch Ness project, Professor Kettle expressed the fears of many: "this is a disaster, we have already lost three months of valuable research time looking for the Loch Ness Monster and now the hunt for Nessie the cryptid will be put back even further. I have cryptoozological experts from around the world due here in the next few days but most are cancelling their travel plans due to the British Airways and rail strikes and now the severe weather.

The British Flower Re-Cycling Organisation warned that spring flowers are in peril as the snow will freeze and break them.
